Frank Toothman

January 9, 1935 — August 3, 2015

Frank Toothman, 80, of Franklin died Monday August 3, 2015 at UPMC Hamot, Erie following a short illness.

A son of Ananias and Emma Goff Toothman, he was born in Mannington, WV on January 9, 1935. Growing up in rural West Virginia Frank developed a lifelong love of deer hunting and walking in the woods.

Frank was well known in the area as a tree trimmer. He physically climbed the trees rather than use a bucket truck until after the age of 60. He had also worked at Joy and for Sugarcreek Boro.
He was an active member of the Faith Baptist Church. A lifetime of physical labor served him well as he was still walking and cutting grass only a couple weeks ago.

On June 23, 1954 he married the former Phyllis Flotta who survives along with three daughters Sharon Ward and her husband James of Franklin, MA, Rose McDeavitt and her husband Rick of Lyndora, and Christine Raup and her husband Chester of Reno; a son Joseph Toothman of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 5 grandchildren Karen Lokey, Joshua Ward, Faith Erwin, Gary McDeavitt and Frank Raup. Also surviving are 14 great-grandchildren Emma and Owen Lokey, Dominick and Cian Shaw, Anthony Ward, Grant, Lucas, and Lily Erwin, Bryce, Anna, Cydney, and Blake McDeavitt, Breanna and Paige Raup. Several nieces and nephews complete his family.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Faith Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Williams officiating.

In a desire to help others Frank's final disposition was with the Humanity Gifts Registry.

Memorial donations if desired may be sent to the Faith Baptist Church, 235 Horsecreek Rd., Seneca, PA 16346.
