Augustine "Gus" Fabry

Augustine "Gus" Fabry, 86, a resident of Orchard Manor in Grove City for the last two years, died at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He previously made his home in Grove City and Harrisville. He was born April 28, 1925, in Vandergrift, to Andrew Fabry and Magdalena (Ambrose) Fabry. He was employed in the foundry at the former Cooper-Energy Services Grove City, retiring in 1987 with 40 years of service. Mr. Fabry was of the Catholic faith. During World War II, he served as a seaman first class in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Harrisville American Legion Post 852 and VFW Post 519 of Grove City. He first was married to Ethel Mae (Battley) Fabry, who died Jan. 3, 1974. He then married Doris J. (Miller) Como Fabry, and she died Nov. 3, 2009. Surviving are daughters, Joann Confer of Grove City, Jean McClung and her husband, Ronald, of Stoneboro, Lori Udy and her husband, Brett, of Grove City and Lisa Alessio of Grove City; sons, David P. Fabry and his wife, Kelly, of Harrisville and Richard Como and his wife, Julie, of Grove City; 21 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Chico. In addition to his parents and his wives, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Bestwick; two sons, Jay Stillwagon Jr. and Randy Como; a grandson; and eight brothers and sisters. FABRY - Funeral services for Augustine "Gus" Fabry, who died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday 9/30/2011 at Jamison Funeral Home, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville, with Lay Pastor Evelyn M. Beebe, of the Scotch Hill Presbyterian Church, officiating. Friends may call Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville. Memorial contributions may be made to the activities fund of Orchard Manor, Orchard Drive, Grove City, PA 16127
