Betty J. Hasson, 80 of 203 S. Park St., Franklin died at 2:28 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2009 at UPMC Northwest, Seneca.
She was born on July 13, 1929 a daughter of John C. and Gladys M. Perrine McIntire. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1947.
Mrs. Hasson was employed by the City of Franklin in the Treasurers Office, for General Manifold and Printing Company, Penelec , the Exchange Bank and last for the County of Venango in the Domestic Relations Office for twenty years as a bookkeeper and retired from there as director.
She was an active member for many years of the First United Methodist Church in Franklin and the Sarah Circle of the Church.
She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Nursery Chapter # 25; Venango Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, which she was Regent of the Historical Society from 1992 to 1994.; the Franklin Women?s Club; Ladies Auxiliary of the Franklin Commandery # 44; Franklin Historic Preservation Association; Venango Museum of Art, Science and Industry; and UPMC Northwest Hospital Corporation.
She was also a volunteer for Meals of Wheels.
She married Ralph I Hasson on October 3, 1958 and he survives along with a brother, John G. McIntire and his wife Josephine, Franklin and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Lois C. Stuck.
Friends will be received in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St., Franklin on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted in the First United Methodist Church, Franklin on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Harry Pastor of the church officiating.
Interment will be made in the Lupher Chapel Cemetery.
It has been requested that donations be made to the Venango County Visiting Nurses, 491 Allegheny Blvd, Franklin, PA 16323 or the First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 1100 Liberty St., Franklin, PA 16323.
