Betty June Bell

December 4, 1920 — March 10, 2011

Betty June Bell, 90, formerly of 809 Warren Road went home to be with her Lord and Savior and husband Deane at 8:38 a.m. Thursday March 10, 2011 at Sugar Creek Station where she had been residing for the past five years.

A daughter of Charles Kenneth and Mildred Ann Ross Hartman she was born in Rocky Grove on December 4, 1920. She was a graduate of Rockland High School.
Mrs. Bell was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Messiah Baptist Church and had taught a Sunday School class for several years. She was very interested and supportive of the mission activities of the church and hosted many missionaries in her home. She was well known for her cooking and pie baking abilities. She also enjoyed china painting, quilting and sewing. Mrs. Bell had made the staff at Sugar Creek Station a part of her family and will be missed by many.

On July 21, 1938 she married Franklin Deane Bell, it was her wish to have a large farm and family, surviving are 10 children. Her five sons and their wives are the Rev. Larry and Elaine Bell, Jeffrey and Brenda Bell, Franklin and Christine Bell Jr. all of Franklin, the Rev. David and Ann Bell of new Castle and Robert and Karen Bell of Jackson Center. Her five daughters and husbands are Vicki and Robert Rodemoyer, Judy Hoffman, Betsy and Eric Cochran and Cheryl and William Coon all of Franklin and Deana and Stephen Clulow of Cochranton; 34 grandchildren; 77 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters Beverly Repman of Oil City and Sandy Wile of Franklin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son Steven Michael Bell and a brother Kenneth Hartman.

Friends will be received in the Messiah Baptist Church, 2260 Rocky Grove Ave., Franklin from 2-8 p.m. Sunday. Funeral services will be held in the church at 10 a.m. Monday with her sons the Rev. Larry Bell, pastor of the church and the Rev. David Bell, pastor of the First United Brethren Church in New Castle officiating.

Interment will follow in the Starr Cemetery, Nineveh.

Memorial donations may be made to the Messiah Baptist Church, 2260 Rocky Grove Ave., Franklin PA 16323.
