Betty S. Coup

Betty S. Coup, 88, formerly of Lewisburg and Milton, passed away Wednesday, February 08, 2017 in The Caring Place Nursing Center in Franklin, PA. She had resided there since October, 2016. She had previously lived with her son Roger in Oil City since January, 2015.

She was born May 5, 1928 in Hughesville to the late Willis and Ruth (Whitmoyer) Barltow. She lived with Ed and Jenny Snyder in Milton from age 10 until they formally adopted her. She affectionately called her adoptive parents "Aunt Jen and Uncle Ed". She worked at First National Bank of Milton and the Milton Plant of Chef Boy-Ar-Dee and retired as a bookkeeper from Clemen's Machine Shop in Milton.

She attended banking school after graduating from Milton High School in 1946 and was also a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Milton. Betty was a friendly, loving, giving person who tried to see the good in everything and be nice to everyone.

She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was married to Nelson E. Coup until his death in 1981. She was also preceded in death by her adoptive parents as well as four sisters; Mae, Elsie, Ina, and Frances; and her cat Mitzie.

She is survived by her sons Roger of Oil City and Douglas of Downingtown, Douglas' wife Lori and grandchildren David and Jessica as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin where family and friends are welcome from 11:00 A.M. until 12:45 P.M. Saturday.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Don Dittman, Chaplain at The Caring Place Officiating.

Interment will be at Milton Cemetery.
