Charles B. Card, 85, of Franklin passed away at 5:45 P.M. on Saturday January 20, 2018 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca after an extended illness.

A son of the late Henry B. and Hazel V. Rodgers Card, he was born in Franklin on January 15, 1933. He was a graduate of Rocky Grove High School and received his degree from the University of Monterey in California.

Chuck traveled the world as he served in the United States Army for 26 years. He saw tours of duty in Germany, Vietnam, Korea, and 21/2 years in Okinawa, Japan. It was there he married the love of his life, Chiyoko Takara on June 13, 1972 and she survives.

Following his retirement from the army he worked for Hanna Transfer as agent for Allied Van Lines from 1979 until 2001.

He proudly served as a member of the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard until his health no longer permitted him to participate. He was also a life member of the V.F.W. Jesse Greer Post 1835, D.A.V. Tri-County Chapter #67, and American Legion Post 476.

He and his wife enjoyed traveling and camping. They visited all 50 of the United States, France, Germany, Canada and Mexico.

In addition to his wife Chiyoko, he is survived by four sons, David Divins and his wife Jessie of Strattanville, Richard Sarver of Clarendon, Charles P. Card of Franklin and Anthony Card and his wife Darlene of Cooperstown; one daughter, Tammy Stone of California; three step children, Ritsuko "Riko" Card of Okinawa, Japan, Billy Card and Launa Kennedy both of California and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Also surviving is a sister, Gladys Tarr of Grove City; step-brothers and sisters: Henry Card Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Connecticut, Paul Card and his wife Donna of Emlenton, Roy Card of Emlenton, James Card and his wife Cathy of Connecticut, Anson Card of Emlenton, Florence "Sis" Dodge of Oil City, Reanie Pannell and her husband Ron of Ohio, Tena Brown and her husband Bob of Corsica, and Gertie Hanzecy of Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step mother, Florence Card; a son, Mike Card and siblings, Sonny, William, Nancy, Mary and George.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 W. Park St. Franklin where family and friends are welcome from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. and 6:00- 7:00 P.M. Tuesday.

A funeral service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel followed by Military Honors rendered by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard.

Interment will be at Lupher Chapel Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard 421 Ninth St. Franklin, PA 16323.
