Cheryl A. Hoover

August 15, 1957 — June 16, 2019

Cheryl A. Hoover, 61, of Polk, passed away unexpectedly at 12:20 AM on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

Born in Oil City on August 15, 1957 she was a daughter of the late Earl Crawford Jr. and Betty Delong Crawford.

Cheryl worked for 33 years at Polk Center as an RSA and retired as a Supervisor.

Family was everything to Cheryl, and she always looked forward to Sunday family gatherings and welcoming new members into the family.

She enjoyed vacationing, shopping, fishing, camping and family cookouts. Cheryl loved to watch Days of Our Lives. She also enjoyed socializing with friends and attending various parades that her granddaughter, Brooklyn, was participating in.

Cheryl and Don also prided themselves in raising their granddaughters, Makiah and Brooklyn for the last several years.

On May 9, 1975 she married Donald M. Hoover and he preceded her in death on April 15, 2015.

Surviving are three children; Donald Hoover Jr. and his wife, Brandi, of Cranberry, Jeffrey Hoover, of Polk and Beth Marshall and her husband, Jeff, of Oil City; seven grandchildren, Corissa Marshall, Tyler Hudak, Isaiah Hoover, Shyann Hoover, Shaleiann Hoover, Makiah Culver and Brooklyn Culver and one great-grandchild, Jayce Hudak.

Also surviving are two brothers; Earl Crawford, III and his wife, Sandy, and James Crawford and his wife, Irene; a sister, Debra Green; three sisters-in-law, Deb Poston, Donna Shook and Dee McGinnis; and one brother-in-law, Dallas Hoover.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Hoover; a brother, John Crawford; a sister, Frances Jean Crawford; a sister-in-law, Dolly Hoover and a brother-in-law, David Hoover.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff - Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., where family and friends are welcome from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. Thursday and 11:00 - 11:45 A.M. Friday.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Justin Spurgin, Pastor of Messiah Baptist Church, officiating.

Interment will follow at Old Sandy Cemetery.
