Clair D. Gibbons

Clair D.Bo� Gibbons, 82, of Franklin died at 2:13 p.m. Sunday, February 14, 2010 at The Caring Place after a long illness.
Born July 24, 1927 in Eau Clair he was the son of Hugh and Helen Stocker Gibbons.
He spent his early life in Rouseville and attended Oil City High School. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II as a radio operator and was involved with the Berlin Air Lift.
Bo worked for 38 years at Miller Equipment Company. After his retirement in 1988 he enjoyed traveling, gardening reading and visiting with family and friends. He was a member of the Rocky Grove Avenue Presbyterian Church, where he had attended for 54 years.
He was married on February 11, 1950 to the former Grace Slocum, who survives along with two daughters Pam Baughman and her husband Larry Joe of Franklin and Robyn Kosheba and her husband Edward of Mechanicsburg; 4 grandchildren Clare and Ben Hoover, Amanda and Adam Baughman and a great-grandchild Kensington Baughman. Also surviving are a sister Elaine Brock and her husband Charles of Franklin and three brothers Charles Gibbons of Franklin, Jack Gibbons and his wife Jean and Jim Gibbons and his wife Karen all of Oil City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Donald Gibbons.
Friends will be received in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St. from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held in the Rocky Grove Avenue Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Linda Deeter, Chaplain at The Caring Place officiating. Military honors will be rendered by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard.
Interment will follow in Franklin Cemetery.
The family has suggested memorial donations be made to the Rocky Grove Avenue Presbyterian Church, 321 Rocky Grove Ave., Franklin PA 16323 or The National Parkinson Foundation, 1501 NW 9th Ave/Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 33136.
