Dalton N. O?Connor, 88 of 1508 Pittsburgh Road, Franklin died at 10:40 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2009 in UPMC Northwest at Seneca. He was born in Franklin on September 7, 1920 a son of Nathan and Eldoan Hovis O?Connor. He graduated from Franklin High School in 1939. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. Mr. O?Connor was employed at Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company in the time study and methods department for many years retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church and the Friendship Circle Sunday School Class, also a member of the CPT Quarter Century Club. He married the former Charlotte Dodd on December 6, 1944, she survives along with a son Craig O?Connor and his significant other Lorna McClimans, Franklin; a daughter Shirley Fagley and her husband Richard, New Bethlehem; three grandchildren, Christie Svolos and her husband George, Oil City; Brenda Henry and her husband Joe, New Bethlehem; Barbara Avarello and her husband Brian, Brunswick, OH; six great-grandchildren, Sydney and Ansley Svolos, Oil City; Katelyn and Claire Henry, New Bethlehem; Kyra and Lauren Avarello, Brunswick, OH; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson Ryan O?Connor, a great-grandson Nicholas Avarello, and 4 sisters. Friends will be received in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St., Franklin on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Saturday with Sam Wagner Associate Pastor of the Christ United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be made in the Franklin Cemetery. The family suggests that donations be made to the Memorial Fund of the Christ United Methodist Church, 1135 Buffalo St., Franklin, PA 16323.
