David C. Baer

David Charles Baer went to God Thursday, February 19, 2009. Born on January 1, 1946 in Rochester, NY, he was the son of Charles and Martha Baer, originally of Ellwood City, PA, now of Frederick, MD who survive him.
David was a graduate of Penn State University where he was a member of the Acacia fraternity. Dave later earned his Master's Degree from Duquesne University. He was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare for 35 years where he was known across the state for his training excellence. His work brought him across Pennsylvania frequently where he was requested to speak at key conferences and assemblies. His professional dedication, excellence and expertise are widely known across the state's Staff Development organization. David's varied interests included PC construction, HAM radio operation (N3HIX), kayaking and his long time love for motorcycles was stranger to no one; he shared that interest with his sons. David enjoyed a large family and friend's network with whom he stayed in close touch. His kind, patient and personable manner will be missed greatly by family and friends. He was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church in Franklin, PA.
He is survived by his wife Lynne A. Baer of Franklin and three sons, Charles (wife Carol) of San Francisco, Alex of Philadelphia and Christopher of Pittsburgh. He is also survived by his 2 step daughters Gretchen Krellner (husband James) and Heather Krawick (husband Bryan) all of Franklin, grandson Benjamin Krellner, brother James Baer (wife Carolynn) of Fairfax VA, niece and nephews, and his mother-in-law Vivian Tatters of East Brady.
There will be no public visitation.
Funeral services will be held in the Christ United Methodist Church, 1135 Buffalo Street at 1 p.m. Saturday with Rev. David Janz, pastor officiating. Interment will be made in the Graham Cemetery.
The family suggests memorial donations be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 1135 Buffalo Street, Franklin PA 16323. Arrangements are in charge of Huff Chapel Inc. Online condolences may be sent to www.huffchapel.com
