Doreen Field Walters

Doreen Field Walters died peacefully at 2:10 A.M. November 4, 2011 after an extended illness.

She was born on October 29, 1928 in London, England to Doris and Hedley Field.
Doreen met her husband, Ronald Walters, while he was serving overseas during WWII.

She was a dedicated mother and homemaker who loved her ?3 boys?, her 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Doreen was a ?stay at home mom? who taught her children about manners, love, and respect for others. She enjoyed her home and her lawn was a ?show piece? of Rocky Grove.

Doreen was a lover of animals especially her cat ?Kitty Poo?. She enjoyed her ?500 bid? card club and dining out at various restaurants with her husband, Ron. Doreen was an outstanding cook and prepared many a fine meal for her family during the holiday season.

She was a member on the Rocky Grove Avenue Presbyterian Church for 50 years.
Doreen and Ron were married on November 22, 1946 at the Manse of the Rocky Grove Ave. Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Morehead presiding. They have been married for almost 65 years.

Her husband, Ron, survives along with their three sons, Ronald and his wife Marge of Norwich, Connecticut and his children, Ron, Tracy, and Jamie Lee, Donald and his wife Vicky of Knox and his two children, Vanessa and Lauren, and Scott and his wife Debra of Franklin and their two children, Scott and Kelly.

Doreen was one of two daughters born to Hedley and Doris Field. Her sister, Ann, preceded her in death.

There will be no visitation.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday November 12, 2011 at the Rocky Grove Avenue Presbyterian Church 321 Rocky Grove Ave. Franklin, PA 16323 with the Rev. Sue Nageotte, officiating.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff Chapel Inc. 312 West Park St. Franklin.

Interment will be at the Franklin Cemetery on Rocky Grove Avenue.
