Doris E. Lepley, 89, of Franklin, passed away at 12:02 A.M. Tuesday June 11, 2019 at The Caring Place.

Born in Clarion County on June 1, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Helen Beels Hogenmiller.

Doris was a 1948 graduate of Franklin High School and went on to work at Polk Center for 33 years, serving in many different capacities.

She was a faithful member of the Nicklin United Methodist Church.

Doris was born to deaf parents and learned sign language at a very young age so she could help interpret for her parents. She also interpreted for various events throughout the county.

As an only child, Doris was very close with her cousins as a child and they grew up more like siblings.

She enjoyed reading, outdoor activities and spending time with her family and beloved dog. Doris also enjoyed playing cards and belonged to several card clubs. Throughout her adult life, she was active with the Venango County 4H and was a Ruff Riders Leader.

On April 8, 1950 she married Zenas "Bill" R. Lepley and he preceded her in death on September 11, 2008. Doris was especially proud that they built their home together from the ground up.

Surviving are two children, Bonnie Hoffman and her husband Jack of Franklin and Rindy Taylor of Franklin; six grandchildren, Karen Hawkins and her husband Steven, Richard Hoffman and his wife Barbara, Michelle Freer and her husband Dennis, Clint Hoffman and his wife Melissa, Luke Hoffman and his wife Brooke and Chris Taylor and his wife Jill.

Additionally surviving are 12 great-grandchildren, Justin Hawkins and his wife Cheyanne, Hunter Hoffman, Kyle Hoffman, Derek Freer, Lane Freer, Sydney Hoffman, Danielle Hoffman, Karter Hoffman, Katie Hoffman, Jade Taylor, Callie Taylor, and Chloe Taylor; and her best friend since high school, Ann Adams.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff-Guthrie Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St. Franklin where family and friends are welcome from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. & 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Wednesday.

Additional visitation will be from 10:00 - 10:45 A.M. Thursday at Nicklin United Methodist Church 2602 Waterworks Rd. Franklin where a funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Giles Bailey, officiating.

Interment will be at Cooperstown Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Venango County Fair c/o Horse Barns Project 867 Mercer Rd. Franklin, PA 16323.
