Dorothy E. Mcelhaney

Dorothy E. McElhaney, age 92 of Franklin, passed away at 11:10 p.m. on January 26, 2017 at Orchard Manor in Grove City.

She was born in Franklin on September 30, 1924 to the late James Martin McElhaney and Charlotte Hovis McElhaney.

Dorothy attended elementary school in Sandycreek Township later graduation from Franklin High School and the Franklin Commercial College. She was employed for fifteen years by the Prudential Insurance Company. Later she was employed by the Franklin District Office of the Lincoln Electric Company for over twenty-seven years, retiring in 1985.

She was a lifelong member of the Congress Hill Church of God, the Women's Club of Franklin, the International Association of Administrative Professionals, and the Venango County Historical Society where she was a volunteer. Dorothy enjoyed traveling and was a lifelong student of history.
Dorothy is survived by four generations of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by a sister, Helen K. Miller, three brothers, Wayne H., John W., and Paul J. McElhaney. Dorothy is the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Huff Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. 312 West Park St. Franklin where family and friends are welcome from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. Monday.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Monday in the funeral home chapel.

Interment will follow at Franklin Cemetery.
