Elizabeth Jane Cochran

January 16, 1959 — January 12, 2013

As it is in the circle of life, it has come to pass a special friend of all E. Jane Cochran, 53 has joined hands with the angel Gabriel and her Lord. She has entered into the heavenly paradise to be together again with friends who have gone before her.

Born in Franklin on January 16, 1959 she was a daughter of Bonnie J. Ritner of Fertigs and the late Robert K. Ritner.

She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Jerome F. ?Jerry? Cochran and her son Callen J. Cochran both of Fertigs. In addition she is survived by her sisters; Susan Hileman and her husband Robert, Carol Donahey and her husband Kevin; one brother Dean Ritner and his wife Kim; close friends, Ron and Sally Harvey from Alaska, Sherry and Terry Moore, Trisha and Shane Hoover, David and Mary Hasson and Kevin and Karen Obrien. She cherished spending time with nieces and nephews.

She was a 1976 graduate of Cranberry High School.

Jane began her career working 14 years with the Area Agency on Aging. She was instrumental in helping organize the 1st Senior Centers in Venango County and RSVP Services. She continued her career by becoming the 1st Director of the DeBense Antique Music World Museum. She then finished her career working 14 years at Franklin Press.

Jane participated in Applefest for 25 years. She and her family helped decorate for the Franklin Light Up Night for 18 years. She helped organize many events for the Men?s Softball League as well as Callen?s Cranberry Ball Leagues. With her love of baseball and softball she was a scorekeeper during all of her husbands and sons games. She was the treasurer and organizer of concessions for Cranberry Little League.

She was a member of Seneca Bowling League for 20 years. She was involved in her son?s Eagle Scout Troop 111 in Seneca and Cranberry Festival Activities. She was a lifelong blood donor and a member of the 50 gallon club. She raised funds recently during her illness for the Venango County Relay 4 Life for the American Cancer Society.

In addition to all of those activities Jane found time to become an expert crafter and thoroughly enjoyed making her handmade gifts for, holidays, birthdays, and special occasions. She was a gardener and a bird enthusiast. She spent time with friends collecting her treasured Santa Claus?s, rolling pins, antique utensils and dolls. Other things precious to her were scrapbooking, beaches, 30 years of family travels to Clear Creek, ball tournaments all over the country and lastly her cherished family trips to Alaska.

Family and friends are welcome from 2:00 P.M. until the time of a Celebration of Life Service at 2:45 P.M. Sunday at the Seneca United Methodist Church, 196 East State Rd. Seneca, Pa 16346 with the Rev. William Hastings, officiating.

A luncheon provided by the church will be held immediately following the service.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. 312 W. Park St. Franklin.
