Finetta Alice Finley

April 9, 1917 — August 26, 2013

Finetta Alice Finley, 96, formerly of Moreland Drive in Franklin resident, died at 5:45 p.m. Monday August 26, 2013 at Manchester Presbyterian Home in Erie.

A daughter of Faber and Barbara Tate Orwick she was born in Palmyra, OH on April 9, 1917. She was an eleven year graduate at Polk High School and then graduated from Franklin High School before attending the Oil City Business School.

Mrs. Finley had been employed as a bookkeeper in the accounts payable department at Polk Center.

She and her husband were members of the First Presbyterian Church in Franklin. She and her husband enjoyed golfing, fishing, wintering in Florida and participating in the events of the Franklin Club. She was passionate about playing bridge and joked that she had read all the books in the Franklin Library.

On September 26, 1938 she married Norman W. Finley; he died on March 11, 2000.

Surviving are a son Richard O. Finley and his wife Karen of Erie, a daughter Kathryn Bartlett and her husband John of Oil City, 8 grandchildren Kelly Bailey and her husband Eric of Waynesville, OH, Tracy Finley and her husband Matthew of Carlisle, OH, Angela Annon and her husband Eric of Philippi, WV, Richard Norman Finley and his wife Jill of Wheeling, WV, Carolyn Naseer and her husband Muki of Raleigh, NC, Emil John Kesselring of Fort Leavenworth, KS, Renee Ellen Bartlett of Erie and Noel John Bartlett and his wife Sandra of Oil City, 13 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are a brother Harry T. Daye of Polk and a sister Bobby Ann Clifford of Allentown.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister Helen L. Snyder and a infant brother Gifford.

Friends will be received in the Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 312 W. Park St. from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral chapel at 11 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Barry Jenkins, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church officiating.

Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
