Geraldine Beatty Maxwell

August 4, 1918 — November 4, 2013

Geraldine B. Maxwell, 95, of Oil City passed away peacefully at the Caring Place Monday, November 4, 2013 surrounded by her family.

She was born August 4, 1918 in Titusville, PA a daughter of Irid C. and Helen Foss Beatty.

Jerry having raised her family in Cranberry, she made her home with her daughter, Murdeane, in Oil City until early September of this year.

Married October 7, 1938 to John B. Maxwell, he preceded her in death February 2, 2001.

She and her husband enjoyed traveling throughout the country. She enjoyed knitting, bingo, spending time with her family and made a ritual of making her daily contribution to the PA lottery buying specific games at specific locations.

She is survived by sons George Maxwell and his wife Pat of Cranberry, Gerald Maxwell and his wife Robin of Queen Creek, AZ and daughters, Murdeane Heller and her husband Don of Oil City, Marjorie Kerr and her husband Tom of Oil City, Susan Neidich and her husband Al of Franklin, and a daughter-in- law Debbie Maxwell of Chino Valley, AZ. Completing her family are grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband John B. Maxwell, sons John Maxwell, Jr. of Chandler, AZ, James Maxwell of Chino Valley, AZ, sisters Murdeane Ghering and Helen Keeley both of Titusville, a daughter-in-law Robin Maxwell of Franklin and a granddaughter.

Private family services will be held Saturday, November 9, 2013 in the Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc.

Her family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association, Memorial Processing Center, P.O.Box 8835, Camp Hill, PA 17001 or the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Dr., Pittsburgh PA 15205.
