GLADYS E. KRAFT (nee Hartman), 81, of Franklin, PA died at 12:01 A.M. on Thursday December 31, 2015 at Sugarcreek Station.

She was the wife of the late Karl T. Kraft and the Loving mother of Timothy (Jamie) and Michael (Kathleen) and "Mom" to Frank (Bucky) Bambic. Known as "Xtreme G" to her grandchildren, Kendra Morvillo, Kelsey, Kenzie, Lauren, Kaitlin, Teddy, Bill Bambic and Becky Veenstra for her traveling adventures and exploits: zip-lining in Hawaii, four-wheeling in Finland, snorkeling in the Caribbean and cruising the high seas. She was also known as "Great" to her great grandchildren Matthias and Owen Morvillo.

Daughter of Clair and Ruth Hartman, owners of Hartman's Orchards (now Barbers,) she is survived by her sisters Barbara Plowman and Jean Tenza.

She was a prolific prize-winning quilter who hand-stitched her creations, providing all of her children and grandchildren with a warm remembrance of her love. Avid gardener, cook and baker, Gladys was also known as the "Garlic Goddess" for her abilities in the kitchen to her friends and followers in Franklin.

Family gatherings at her home were filled with love, laughter and food, and Gladys was always the spark that lit up the room. Her Friday Supper Club was one of her favorite events, dining and dishing with her closest friends over a glass (or two) of wine.

She was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church, where she had great friends and fellowship.

Gladys' family is very thankful for the dedication of her many friends who visited her loyally over the past 18 months as well as the love and caring shown by the staff of Sugarcreek Station Nursing Home.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday January 9, 2016 at the Oakland United Methodist Church 1431 St. Route 428, Oil City, PA with Rev. Ed Saxman, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, please call your mom and tell her you love her, of if your mom has already passed, recall some good memories of her.
