Glenn A. Daily, 99 formerly of Utica died on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the Fahrney-Keedy Memorial Home in Boonsboro, Maryland.
He was born in Canal Twp., Venango County on January 10, 1911, a son of George Lee and Phoebe Flo Smith Daily. He graduated from Rocky Grove High School and Beckley College in Harrisburg with a degree in engineering.
Mr. Daily worked for 30 years at Joy Mining Machinery as an engineer, retiring from there in 1976.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and working on the family farm in Hannaville which is presently and has been in the family name since 1865.
He was a life member of the Franklin Elks Lodge # 110.
He married the former Nellie M. Latshaw on August 18, 1934 and she died on July 1, 1993.
Surviving are a son Gene L. Daily and his wife Ann, Hagerstown, MD; Three grandchildren, Gregg Daily and his wife Sharon, Sparks, MD; Dennis Daily and his wife Mary, Forest, VA; Karen Rinker, Owens Mills, MD; five great-grandchildren, Mallory Daily, Scott Daily, Ellie Daily, Abby Daily and Caroline Daily.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter Barbara Ward, a granddaughter Lisa Ward, a grandson Brett Ward, and a brother in infancy, Eugene Daily.
Friends will be received in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St., Franklin on Saturday from Noon to 2:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Domenick Pietro pastor of the Hannaville Wesleyan Methodist Church officiating.
Interment will be made in Peters Cemetery, Canal Township.
The family suggests that donations be made to the Alzheimer?s Association, 1128 State St., Suit 301, Erie, PA 16501-1920.
