Glenn C. Adams, 78, of Cokain Road, Harrisville, died at 3:45 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, at Grove City Medical Center, after a three year battle with cancer. Born June 4, 1933, in Fairview Township, Butler County, he was the son of Samuel Ray Adams and M. Pearl (Sutton) Adams. He was a 1952 graduate of Karns City High School and a 1959 graduate of California State Teachers College, California, Pa. He also graduated from Lincoln Welding School. He retired in 1986 after 28 years of service as an industrial arts teacher in the Grove City Area School District. He also worked at Satec of Grove City and Pullman of Butler. He was a member of Fairview Presbyterian Church. He was a life member of PSEA, a former member of Mercer County Industrial Arts and PA Industrial Arts, a member of the NRA, a former member of the Grove City Jaycees, a founding member of the Grove City Historical Society and a former member of Mercer County Woodland Owners Association. He enjoyed traveling, working on old cars and buying and fixing rental homes. He was an avid hunter and he enjoyed raising hunting dogs. He also dealt in antiques. Mr. Adams was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was married June 20, 1961, to the former Bonnie J. Deniker, who survives at the residence. Also surviving are three sons, Mike S. Adams of Grove City, Bret G. Adams and his fiancee, Kathy Locktosh, of Grove City and Kirk R. Adams and his wife, Amy, of Harrisville; five grandchildren, Sutton, Quinn, Silas, Estella and Mary; and two step-grandchildren, Tyler and Ryan Locktosh. He is also survived by a brother, Dean R. Adams and his wife, Mary E., of Karns City and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday 9/17/2011 in Jamison Funeral Home, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Robert J. Guy, pastor of Barkeyville Church of God, officiating.
