Grace P. Dingman

Grace Pearl Dingman, 97, of 840 Mercer Road, Franklin died at 11:25 p.m. Monday December 28, 2009 at her home.
A daughter of Charles E. and Grace Hallock Uller she was born in Tidioute on July 11, 1912. She was a graduate of Titusville High School and the Oil City School of Nursing in 1933.
After graduation she worked as a nurse at Polk Center caring for the employees. She and her husband owned and operated several businesses including Dingman?s Fuel Oil Farm Delivery, Dingman?s Gas Station on Black Hill and they originated Dingman?s Trailer Park behind the service station.
For many years she was an active member of the Polk Presbyterian Church and in later years became a member of St. John Episcopal Church.
In her early years as a wife and mother she earnedpin money� by serving the Polk community as a beautician in her home. She enjoyed the company of family and friends. She participated in the Polk Quilting Bee, playing cards and exercising at the heated pool at the Y. Skilled at needlework she embroidered, crocheted, knitted and doll making. Through the years she enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren. She was always willing to give a helping hand to family, friends and neighbors. She enjoyed training and trimming her poodles.
On October 8, 1935 she married Paul E. Dingman who died September 19, 1983.
Surviving are a daughter Linda Trikur of Franklin, a grandson John Trikur and his wife Bethany of Corry, a granddaughter Debra Prichard and her husband Don of Cooperstown, four great-grandchildren Ryan, Tyler, Jessie and Coty and numerous nieces and nephews including Reva Stright of Charleston and Polly Jamison of Franklin. She was happily anticipating the birth of her great-granddaughter to be named Grace.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son-in-law Edward Trikur, two sisters Ruth Deemer and Gretchen Uller and two brothers Charles and Joseph Uller.
Huff Chapel is handling funeral arrangements.
Friends will be received in St. John Episcopal Church, 1145 Buffalo Street from 1-3 p.m. Sunday. Memorial services will be held in the church at 3 p.m. with The Rev. Holly A. Davis, Rector of St. John?s officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
