Isabella B. Stewart

Isabella Boal Stewart, 102, of Erie formerly of Franklin, died at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Jim Barickman.

A daughter of John and Leda Beightol Boal, she was born in Cooperstown on March 16, 1914. She was a graduate of Rocky Grove High School.

Isabella had served as director of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program for Venango County Agency on Aging for 23 years.

She had been a member of the "Over 50 Club" of the Second Presbyterian Church in Oil City having been a member for over fifty years. She had been a member of the Belles Lettres Club in Oil City.

Surviving are two daughters Elizabeth Ann Carter and Margaret "Peg" (Jim) Barickman, 9 grandchildren,15 great-grandchildren, and her sister Charlotte Shorts.

She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Alan Stewart, a daughter Mary Lee McCullough Heald; three sons-in-law William McCullough, James Oakes,and Glenn Carter, her sister Margaret Boal and two brothers Robert and John Boal.

Friends will be received in the Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 312 W. Park St., Franklin from 11 a.m. until 2:15 p.m. Saturday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Bill Carter, Mrs. Stewart's grandson, officiating.

Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
