John Lazeration

.John Lazeration, 90, of Ginter, died peacefully in the arms of his loving wife on Monday, January 25, 2021, at Mountain Laurel Healthcare.

John was born January 11, 1931 in Ginter, Clearfield County, the son of Stephen and Anna Lazeration.

He was married to Esther Coast on July 11, 1955, in Erie, PA, and they later confirmed their vows on January 2, 1988, at St. Mary’s Annunciation Ukrainian Catholic Church, Ramey, PA.

John proudly served his country in the US Army for 20 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served three tours of duty in Vietnam. During his years in the military, he and Esther traveled to many countries around the world and John often commented how proud he was that Esther always accompanied him.

After his retirement from the Army, he was employed for many years as an inspector for the Corps of Engineers Civil Service.

John loved feeding the birds and deer in his back yard. He had a great love for animals and there was always a cat or rescue dog in their home. He enjoyed watching television, especially the older comedy shows and game shows such as Family Feud.

He is survived by his wife, Esther; a sister, Ann (Paul) Daniel of Clearfield; a goddaughter, Heidi Hoffmiester of the Allentown area, sisters-in-law, Romaine (Jack) Gracy of Franklin and Delores (Bill) Boyer of Seneca; and numerous nieces and nephews and extended family members. He will be sadly missed by all those who loved him.

John was preceded in death by his mother and father; five brothers, George, Paul, Frank, Joseph; and six sisters, Sue, Helen, Mary, Christine, Madelyn, and Kate.

A memorial service for John will be held at a later date.
