John W. Bickel

John W. Bickel, 55 of Guys Mills, died unexpectedly on Monday August 8, 2016 in Franklin.

He was born in Franklin on October 5, 1960 to Paul Bickel and the late Janice Hiles Bickel.

John began working at the age of 14 in his grandfather's sawmill, he then went on to work at Franklin Industries as a laborer until his passing. He loved to work and even after a long day at Franklin Industries he would come home and find more work to do.

John married his wife Ruth McCool on December 31, 1981; she survives and lives in Franklin. John loved to hunt and spend as much time as he could with his grandchildren and loved to take them spotting for deer. He was a wonderful husband, grandpa, son and brother.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by two brothers, Randy Bickel and his wife Paula of Guys Mills and Bruce Bickel of Meadville, one sister Joyce Dashner and her husband Frank of Guys Mills, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Also surviving is his step daughter Chasity Bellin of Oil Cityand his grandchildren Caleb Jr, Zella, and Mackenzie Bellin all of Bullion, Addison and Draven Crawford of Franklin, Cadence Collins of Franklin, Shylo McCool of Harrisville, David Waters III and Willow Waters of Franklin.

In addition to his mother, John was preceded in death by his sister Lorrayne Bickel, his grandparents, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 312 West Park Street, Franklin where friends are welcome from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home chapel on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. with the Reverend Dana Lewis, Pastor of Mount Carmel Tabernacle Church, officiating.

Interment will follow at Dempseytown Lutheran Cemetery.
