Kathryn B. Lusher

June 23, 1915 — March 18, 2011

Kathryn B. (Kitty) Lusher, 95, of 404 Mercer Rd. went to be with The Lord after a short illness at 10:05 a.m. Friday March 18, 2011.

A daughter of Joseph G. and Mary T. Rice Bacher she was born in Sandy Lake on June 23, 1915. She was a 1932 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and attended Franklin Business College. In 1964 received her diploma from Wil-Mar Beauty School in 1964.

She began her working career as a clerk and buyer for the Campbell Department Store in Franklin. She later went to Polk Center as a telephone operator and in 1976 she retired while serving as a receptionist at the hospital building with 20 years of service.

She was a member of St. Patrick Church, C. D. of A. Court of St. Thomas #1483 and the Rosary Altar Society.She was a past president of Franklin Eagles Auxiliary #328 and of the local chapter of the Retired Public Employees of Pennsylvania. She was a volunteer for the DeBence Antique Music Museum.

She enjoyed bowling and bowled in the Tuesday Nite Bowling League for over 40 years and participated in the state bowling tournament for 35 years.

On November 11, 1934 she married George E. Lusher in the St. Patrick Rectory. He died November 5, 1986.

Surviving are a daughter Eileen M. Lusher of Franklin, 3 sons Paul E. (Ed) Lusher and his wife Judy, Ronald L. Lusher and James R. Lusher Sr. and his wife Linda, 10 grandchildren: Linda Lusher, Brenda Lusher, Deedee Petress, Kathy Vance, Karen Wilson, Rhonda Lusher, John Lusher, Anna McMurdy, Jim Lusher Jr., and Dan Lusher and 12 great-grandchildren: Renee Spence, Mallory Spence, Ashley Rohlfing, Rex Graham, Cassandra Vance, Matthew Vance, Michael Linderman, Mark Linderman, Brandon Lusher, Brian Lusher, Dalton Lusher, and Julia Lusher. Also surviving is a sister Mrs. Richard (Jean) Bell and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister Margaret L. Bell, a brother William H. Bacher Sr., twin grandsons and her daughter-in-law Norma Lusher.

Friends will be received in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St. from 1-6 p.m. Sunday. A vigil service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick Church at 11 a.m. Monday with Monsignor John J. Herbein pastor of St. Patrick Church and her cousin the Rev. Arthur Bacher con-celebrating.

Interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
