Lois Green

December 5, 1928 — October 7, 2015

Lois Redmond Green, 86 of Wesbury United Methodist Community in Meadville, formerly of Franklin departed this earthly life on Wednesday October 7, 2015 to be with her Lord following a lengthy illness.

Born December 5, 1928 she was the beloved daughter of the late Albert & Myrtle Thomas Redmond of Oil City, Pa. She was a graduate of Oil City High School class of 1946.

She was married to Richard H. Green, January 2, 1947 at the Hasson Heights Community Church with the Rev. Howard Hazlett officiating.

She was formerly employed at Park Furniture & the Printz Co. as bookkeeper, & later for her husband's business, Trico machine Co.

She was a speaker/singer for Stonecroft Ministries Christian Women's Club & organist for 20 years at the Congress Hill Church of God & other churches in the area. She was co-organizer for the Ladies Day Prayer Retreats in the area. A childhood dream came true after retirement when she & her husband served as volunteers at Southwest Indian School in Peoria, AZ for 3 years, where she served as receptionist & her husband taught welding to the boys.

She enjoyed leading people to Christ, music/photography, oil painting, reading & doing crossword puzzles, caring for the needs of others, especially the loves of her life: her grandchildren, great-grandchildren great-great grandson, nieces & nephews.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters-Ethel Reese & Hazel Miller, grandson Patrick Lindsay & great grandson Dale Green Ill. Lois was the last surviving member of her family.
In addition to her loving & devoted husband of 68 years, she is survived by her: Daughter: Sharyn Colleen Lindsay & husband Brian of Arizona Son: Dale Richard Green & wife Debbie of South Carolina; her grandchildren Erik Lindsay & wife Carrie of Arizona, Susan (Green) Kelly & husband Michael of Ohio Dale Green JR of South Carolina James Green of Utica; her great-grandchildren Kaitlynn & Ryan Kriek of OH Jessica, Devin & Jeffrey of PA, Megan, Richard & Conor Green of South Carolina; and great-great grandson Hunter, of OH.

Also surviving are two nieces, Roberta Melat of Seneca and Betsey Robinette & family of Montana; nephews Roger & wife Doris Curley & family of Ohio Terry & wife Donna Reese of Seneca & family Todd & wife Dotty Reese of Franklin.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. 312 West Park St. Franklin where family and friends are welcome from 12:30 - 1:00 P.M. Saturday.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. David Janz, Pastor of Christ United Methodist Church, officiating.

Private Interment for family only will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church, 1135 Buffalo St. Franklin.
