Loretta J. Schwimmer, 62, of 128 Gilfillan St., Franklin, died Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Born Aug. 19, 1947, in Oil City, she was a daughter of Vern A. Dalaba and Onalee J. Stevens Dalaba and Harry G. Porter.
She graduated from Rocky Grove High School in 1965 and Erie Business School in 1967.
She was an administrative assistant at Overhead Door Company of Franklin, Franklin Area High School, the U. S. Department Agriculture Farmers Home Administration for 30 years in Franklin, and later in Meadville and Butler, and Kris Miller Rentals.
She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, and one of her greatest thrills was going to Pittsburgh Steelers games with her friends and especially her son, Bill.
She enjoyed fishing, gardening, and card club with her friends.
She made herself available to her family and friends at all times especially her mother and daughter.
Her greatest love was her grandchildren, and the time she spent with them meant the world to her.
She was of the Methodist faith.
She is survived by her mother, Onalee Dalaba of Franklin; her significant other, Pat Matthews of Franklin; a daughter, CarissaCris� Whitmore of Franklin; two step-sons, PatrickPete� Matthews of Utica, and Keith Matthews of Franklin; two brothers, Gerald Porter of Florida, and David Porter of Franklin; and three grandchildren, Matthew Kistler and Kayla Kistler, both of Franklin, and Megan Rapp of Seneca.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harry Porter; her step-father, Vern Dalaba; and her son, WilliamBill� Erlin Schwimmer.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Huff Chapel, Inc.
Memorial will be a private memorial service for the family will be held with the Rev. James Bennett of First Baptist Church officiating
Interment will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery
The family suggest memorials be made to the Venango County Humane Society.
