Marilyn M. Hines, 71, of 5320 Georgetown Road, died at 2:35 p.m. Saturday April 17, 2010 at Saint Vincent Health Care in Erie.
A daughter of C. Basil and Alice Consider Canon she was born in Mercer on March 28, 1939. She was a 1958 graduate of Franklin High School.
Mrs. Hines worked as a teacher?s aide at Lakeview High School before serving as Dr. Runkle?s receptionist in Sandy Lake. She later worked as a secretary for Quaker State and Daugherty Real Estate.
She enjoyed bowling, watching races and playing cards.
On June 14, 1958 she married James F. Hines Jr. who died May 6, 1983.
Surviving are two sons Steven Hines of Franklin and Douglas Hines and his wife Suzanne of Erie; two grandchildren Shane Hines of Mercer and Justin Hines of Erie and a great-granddaughter Cailyn Hines of Mercer. Also surviving are a sister Donna Mays and her husband William of Franklin and a nephew William H.Dewey� Mays III and his wife Heather of Canonsburg.
Friends will be received in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St. from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Richard K. Harry, pastor of the First United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Sandy Lake.
