Mary Ellen Meanor

Mary Ellen Meanor, 82, of Franklin, died Thursday, July 8, 2010 at her home surrounded by family and friends after a brief battle with cancer.
A daughter of William and Mildred Barnhart Ross she was born in Friedens, PA on November 3, 1927.
Mary Ellen was employed as a switchboard operator for the County of Venango. She retired in 1988 after 20 years of service.
She was a lifelong active member of the Lutheran church. She enjoyed golfing, gardening and spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are her husband Robert A. Meanor, whom she married November 17, 1951; a daughter Jane Connors and her husband Roger; a son-in-law Damon Homich; grandchildren Leah Homich, Zachary Homich and Laura Connors. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Carol Homich and her brother and sister-in-law Sheldon and Ruth Ross.
The family will receive friends in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St, Franklin from 10-11 a.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Philip Scherr, pastor of the Good Hope Lutheran Church officiating.
Private committal services will be held in the Franklin Cemetery. Her family has suggested memorial donations be made to the John Kanzius Cancer Foundation, 1001 State Street, Erie PA 16501.
