Mary Etta Wright, 83 formerly of 518 Wilson Avenue, Rocky Grove died at 3:50 p.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2010 in the Golden Living Center Western Reserve, Erie.
She was born in Rocky Grove on December 7, 1926 a daughter of Nathan and Bessie Griffin. She was a graduate of Franklin High School.
On October 7, 1947 she married William A. Wright who preceded her in death on October 27, 1993.
Mrs. Wright was a homemaker and the cornerstone of her family. Mary Etta was known through out the area for her exceptional sewing skills. She was an active member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Rocky Grove when her health permitted. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the joys of her life.
Surviving are two sons William Wright and his wife Cathy, Valencia; Charles Wright and his wife Jane, Seneca; a daughter Dora Bittner and her husband John, Erie; 4 grandchildren, Brian Wright, Butler; Lauren Wright, Valencia; Heather Wright and her boyfriend Chris Kosarek, State College; Caryn Wright and her boyfriend, Mike Erwin, Seneca; three great grandchildren, Alan Wright, Julie Wright and Camdon Wright all of Valencia; three brothers Lewis Griffin, Utica; Glen Griffin, Oil City; Donald Griffin, Virginia; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and two brothers, Nathan Griffin Jr. formerly of Texas and Robert Griffin formerly of Utica.
Friends will be received in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St., Franklin on Sunday from 2 till 6:00 p.m.
A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ed Gresick, pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment will be made in the Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens. The family suggests that donations be made to a library of your choice.
