Mary Irene Shook

Mary Irene ?Renie? Shook, 94 of 128 Lamberton St. passed away at 7:59 A.M. Friday June 15, 2012 surrounded by her loving family at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

Born August 24, 1917 in Oil City, she was a daughter of the late John S. and Marguerite Rice Reagle.

She was a June 1934 graduate of Sacred Heart Academy and attended Franklin Junior College & Business School graduating in August of 1935.

Mrs. Shook worked at Polk Center in the Dietary Department and also as an RSA retiring in 1979.

She enjoyed spending time with her family every Sunday and during all the Holidays. She also enjoyed going camping at Stone Crest Cabin in Cook Forest with her family.

She spent many winters in Florida with her husband and after his death she continued that with her sister and sister in law.

Mrs. Shook was a faithful member of St. Patrick?s Church in Franklin where she was a very dedicated and active member.

She participated in Senior Aerobics at the YMCA and cherished her time with friends she made there. She also enjoyed her monthly gatherings at Kings Restaurant with her friends. She enjoyed playing cards and attending card parties with her family. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, shuffle board, walking and taking family trips.

On November 24, 1937 she married Ralph W. Shook and he preceded her in death on June 10, 1989.

Surviving are six children; Raymond Shook Sr. and his wife Barbara of Franklin, Mary Black and her Fiancé Dale Green of Franklin, William R. Shook and his wife Patricia of Seneca, Shirley Renninger and her husband Thomas of Franklin, Michael D. Shook and his wife Cindy of Franklin, and Teresa Drozdo and her husband Mark of Utica; two brothers, Francis Reagle and his wife Marilyn of Port St. Lucie, FL and John R. Reagle of Fort Pierce, FL; 19 Grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her daughter, Joan L. Gibbons, a son in law Frank E. Gibbons, a brother James Reagle and a sister Leona Beer.

Friends and family will be received from 2:00 ? 4:00 & 7:00 ? 9:00 P.M. Sunday at Huff Chapel Inc. 312 West Park St. Franklin. A Vigil Service will be held at 3:45 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick Church on Monday at 10:30 a.m. with Monsignor John J. Herbein, presiding.

Interment will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery.
