Nancy Ann Pierce

Nancy Ann Pierce, 74 of 997 Rocky Grove Ave., went to be with her Lord at 4:42 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2010. She lived her life to the fullest and was a great example of a Christian to those who knew her. Now she is living in a much better place.
She was born in her family home at Two Mile Run on June 15, 1936 a daughter of Kenneth and Muriel Griffen Kelley. As a student Nancy would sing on the radio station located in the Veach Building in Oil City and as a young child through high school she sang at weddings and enjoyed listening to music. She graduated from Oil City High School.
Nancy had worked at Harter?s Music Store in Franklin and Brown?s Boot Shop in Oil City. For the past 25 years she has worked at the Photo License Center in Seneca. She was also a homemaker and loved spending time with her family and friends. Nancy always found the good in people and encouraged them along in their task.
She was a member of the Rouseville United Methodist Church and an officer of the United Methodist Women in the local group and a Franklin District Officer. She led the children?s choir for several years and was involved withy many Bible School Programs.
She enjoyed doing crafts and was a hospice volunteer.
She married Wayne E. Pierce on February 12, 1954 at the Bethel United Methodist Church located on U.S. Route 417. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2002.
She is survived by two daughters Laura Pierce, Rocky Grove and Mary Jane Daugherty and her husband Scott, Oil City; a son Wayne E. Pierce Jr. and his wife Teresa, Butler; six grandchildren, Kelley Pierce and Christopher Pierce, Butler; Katie Wilbert and her husband Daniel, Chicora; Matthew, Nichole and Benjamin Daugherty, Oil City; eight brothers and sisters, Kate Moyer and her husband Jim, Rocky Grove; Thomas Kelley and his wife Alma, Karns City; Donna Kelley, Rocky Grove; Bucky Kelley and Grace, Oil City, Gary Kelly and his wife Louise, Brooklyn, New York; Karen Kelley, Oil City; Daisy Mallery and her husband Steve, Hewitt, TX; Elvira (Ellie) Cline and her husband David, Zanesville, OH; 24 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews; brother-in-law Dick Pierce and his wife Marion, Franklin; sister-in-law Beverly Pierce, Anderson, IN; sister-in-law Hope Woodring and her husband Dan, Milesburg; sister-in-law Marlene Oberman and her husband Glenn, Portsmouth, VA; sister-in-law Charity Pierce, Milesburg; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews on this side of the family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sister-in-law Maxine Kelley, a niece Susan Mallery; a brother-in-law Thomas Pierce and her father and mother-in-law, Thomas and Gladys Pierce.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St., Franklin.
A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Friday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Gale Boocks and Rev. Jack Friggle both retired Methodist ministers officiating.
Interment will be made in the Bethel Cemetery.
