Nancy Spik

February 11, 1941 — December 16, 2013

On Monday, December 16, 2013 the angels helped Nancy Spik, 72 of Dempseytown, formerly of New Jersey pass away peacefully ending her several bouts of cancer during the last 50 years.



Born February 11, 1941 in Pittsburgh she was a daughter of the late Frank and Helen Lloyd Arnold.



She attended Robinson Township High School.



Mrs. Spik had a passion for helping people, especially as an Occupation Therapist Assistant at the Newton Memorial Hospital in Sussex, NJ.



Upon retirement she and her husband moved to the Dempseytown area and Nancy was known to say that she will ?Never be bored? during retirement.



She kept busy by quilting, folk art painting, and cross-stitching. She also made numerous porcelain dolls, candles and especially enjoyed making baby quilts for possible great grandchildren.



Nancy also enjoyed playing games on the computer and conversing with people all over the world.



On September 21, 1956 in Carnegie she married Joseph Spik and he survives.



Also surviving are three daughters; Cindy Fishinger and her husband Randy of Dempseytown, Donna McCloskey and her husband Terry of Stanhope, NJ, and Laurie Lasso and her husband Ray of Mount Bethel; one sister, Janet Kibler of Jacksonville, FL; two brothers, Glenn Arnold and his wife Eileen of Saylorsburg, PA and Jay Arnold and his wife Teri of New Stanton, PA; eight grandchildren, Todd, Dana, Darren, Brian, Daniel, Rebecca, Hannah and Dorothea, and several nieces and nephews.



She was preceded in death by her parents.



There will be no visitation.



Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 starting at 2:00 pm at the Oakland United Methodist Church 1431 State Route 428, Oil City, Pa. 16301 with the Rev. Randy Kightlinger, VNA Chaplain, officiating.



Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc. 312 W. Park St. Franklin.



In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 320 Bilmar Rd. Pittsburgh, PA 15205 or VNA of Venango County 491 Allegheny Blvd. Franklin, PA 16323.
