Norma T. Shaughnessy, 87 died peacefully with her family by her side at 9:25 a.m., Saturday, August 29, 2010 at Sugar Creek Station where she has resided since November 2009.
She was born on September 26, 1922 in Richmond, VA a daughter of the late Harry T. and Lucy F. Flippen Terry. She was graduated from Glen Allen High School in Richmond, VA.
She formerly lived at 1443 Chestnut St., Franklin with her husband of 65 years, Paul J. Shaughnessy whom she married on May 22, 1944 and he preceded her in death on August 1, 2009.
Mrs. Shaughnessy retired from Joy Mining Machinery on August 1, 1983 after 28 years of service.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Franklin for over 50 years.
Survivors include a son, Rev. Terry L. Shaughnessy and his wife Jan, Erie; a daughter FrancesSis� Carson and her husband Dave, Oil City; four grandchildren, Lisa, Patrick Shaughnessy and his wife Courtney, Charlotte, N. C.; Travis Vogan, Franklin; Kevin Vogan, Oil City; several nieces and nephews including her favorite niece Kay Gove, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers Stuart Terry, Richard Terry, John Terry, and a sister Jessie Hatcher.
Friends will be received in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St., Franklin on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service and committal service will be conducted in the funeral home on Wednesday at 7p.m. with her son, Rev. Terry L. Shaughnessy, officiating.
Interment will be private at the Starr Cemetery in Ninevah.
The family suggests that donations be made to the Alzheimer?s Association, Northwester PA Chapter, 110 West 10th St., Suite 212, Erie, PA 16501.
