Paul V. "Jack" Emmett

Paul V. "Jack" Emmett Jr., 80 of Harrisville, died unexpectedly on Tuesday October 7, 2014.

Born May 7, 1934 in Barkeyville, he was a son of the late Paul V. Emmett Sr. and Helen McFadden Emmett.

He was a graduate of the former Wesley High School.

Paul was a very hard worker and over the years worked for many local businesses; including, Tasa Coal Company, Greenville Steel Car, Cooper Bessemer, Pullman Standard, Sechans Limestone Company, Kerry Coal Company, Adobe Mining, and Penn Grove Building Systems.

Paul was active and a longtime volunteer with the Feed My Sheep Food Cupboard, a 45 year member of Harrisville United Methodist Church where he formerly served as a Trustee, and was currently serving as a board member of Prairie Cemetery.

He was a member of Grove City Lodge #603 F&AM and Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry.

On January 31, 1953 he married the former Constance VanDyke in Wesley and she survives.

Also surviving are four children; Paul V. Emmett III and his wife Karen of West Middlesex, Gail Chutz and her husband Dennis of Grove City, Sandy Gorniak and her husband Greg of Fairview, and Mary Jane Kennedy and her husband Mark of Clearfield; two brothers, Fred Emmett and his wife Betty of Wesley and Kenneth Emmett and his wife Jane of Grove City; five grandchildren, Amanda Chutz, Amber Chutz, Alissa Higgins and her husband Matt, Joshua Kennedy, and Paul Kennedy; and one great-granddaughter, Piper Kennedy Pratt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Tena Emmett; five sisters, Julia Keith, Jeanette Sopher, Peggie Kelly, Jean Mong, and Marilyn Dick; and a brother Robert Emmett.

Family and friends welcome are from 1:00 - 3:00 & 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Friday at Jamison Funeral Home Inc. 117 N. Main St. Harrisville.

Additional visitation will be held from 2:30-3:30 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday at Harrisville United Methodist Church, 301 South Main St. Harrisville with the Rev. Jeffrey Canter, Church Pastor, officiating.

Interment will follow at Prairie Cemetery.
