Paul W. Clulow

Paul W. Clulow Sr., 94, of Cochranton, died at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday March 29, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

A son of Eugene Clark and Mary Duffield Clulow he was born in Franklin on February 11, 1922. He was a graduate of Franklin High School.

Paul enlisted in the Navy during World War II and served as an aviation ordnance man aboard the USS Bellawood. His ship was hit while in the Philippines and he lost 102 of his comrades. He was awarded nine Battle Stars and the Presidential Unit Citation.

After serving in the Navy he married the former Leola Hummel on July 4, 1945 and they made their home in Franklin for many years before moving to Cochranton. She died December 18, 2002.

He had several different jobs, including Visco Co. in Meadville, PennDOT, and at Joy Manufacturing where he worked as an inspector, retiring in 1985 after30 years of service.
He attended the Atlantic Avenue United Brethren Church for many years. After moving to Cochranton he attended the Cochranton Community Church.

Surviving are two sons Paul W. (Nancy) Clulow Jr of Carlton and Stephen (Deana) Clulow of Cochranton, a daughter Cheryl Schulties of Broken Arrow, OK, 10 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife Paul was preceded in death by a brother Charles Clulow.
Friends will be received in the Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 312 W. Park St, Franklin from 3-7 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home with Pastor Kent Haines of the Cochranton Community Church officiating.

Interment will be made in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the V.E.T.S. Honor Guard.
