Ronald Walter Houston

Ronald Walter Houston, 71, of New Hope Road, Boyers, died peacefully at his residence at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday after a long battle with emphysema and is now with his Father in heaven. Born in Mars, June 15, 1939, he was the son of Raymond W. Houston and Mariam (Johnston) Houston. He attended Moniteau High School and was a graduate of drafting school in Pittsburgh. He was a welder for Pennsylvania Engineering in New Castle. Mr. Houston was a former member of Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church, Harrisville. He enjoyed carpentry work and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed trapping. Surviving are his wife, Mary (Diaz) Houston, whom he married Nov. 8, 1962; a daughter, Mary Ann Fleck and her husband, Robert, of Brownsmill, N.J.; two sons, Raymond W. Houston and his wife, Barbara, of Butler and Kevin T. Houston of Boyers; four grandchildren, Joelle, Cody, Kellie and Rhiannon; three sisters, Georgetta Burk and her husband, Frank, of Valencia, DeEtta Janis and her husband, Tom, of New Castle and Claudia Bash of Slippery Rock; and two brothers, Lawrence "Skip" Houston and his wife, Virginia, of Grove City and Kenneth Bash and his wife, Bonnie, of Utah. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and a brother. HOUSTON - Friends of Ronald Walter Houston, who died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Jamison Funeral Home, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Peter J. Puliatti, pastor of Calvary Orthodox Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery, Cherry Township.
