Ruby Katherine Dickert

Ruby Katherine Dickert, 88 formerly of 55 Adams St., Franklin died at 2:25 a.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2010 in The Caring Place, Franklin.
Ruby was born on July 30 , 1922 , the daughter of Bertha and Harold Finch. Ruby was the youngest of eight siblings (all deceased) who grew up on Oak Hill. She graduated from Franklin High School in 1941.
Ruby married Eugene J. Dickert on August 23, 1942. Ruby and Gene were inseparable and did everything together. Gene was known to affectionately call his wifeRuby Baby? andBanjo Eyes.�Family is Everything� was their creed. Gene passed away on December 25, 2007.
Ruby?s survivors include two sons, Dick Dickert and his wife Cushie of Latrobe, Tanny Dickert and his wife Carol of Franklin, and a daughter, Sue Russell and her husband Bruce, of Slippery Rock. Also surviving are the seven grandchildren who Gene and Ruby thoroughly enjoyed; Stacy Dickert -Conlin and husband Mike of East Lansing, Michigan, Holly Dickert-Leonard and husband Ethan of Cleveland, Ohio, Julie Jones and husband Ken of Greensburg, Heather Boyles of Las Vegas, Nevada, Kim Dickert-Wallace and husband Patrick of Ligonier, Ryan Russell and wife Marcy currently of Frankfurt, Germany, and Regan Mooney and husband Drew of East Butler. Also surviving are Ruby?s thirteen great grandchildren.
Ruby was a dedicated mother who provided a loving welcoming home for her family.
She worked at Phillips Flower Shop in Franklin and at Polk State School and Hospital. After their retirement, Ruby and Gene were fixtures at several local flea markets and were frequently seen at local auctions and garage sales.
Ruby was loved by all she came in contact with and will be greatly missed.
There will be no visitation and a private service will be held at a later date.
Interment will be made in the Franklin Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Meals on Wheels , PO Box 491, Franklin, PA 16323, The Community Ambulance Service, 1010 Buffalo St., Franklin, PA 16323 or to a charity of one?s choice.
