Sandra F. Pankratz, 64, of 310 Gurney Road died at 10:55 p.m. Thursday December 23, 2010 at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh.
A daughter of Vernon Webster and Esther Boice Flinchbaugh she was born in Franklin on August 10, 1946. She was a graduate of Cranberry High School.
Following graduation Sandra worked as a secretary at Brown Boiler Works. She became active in retailing crafts and collectibles. She managed Schoolhouse 1892 for a time and partnered with her sister in starting le Cr��che Boutique. She and her daughter operated a space in Liberty Street Antiques. She also served as secretary at Seneca Hills Bible Camp & Retreat Center and the Franklin YMCA.
Mrs. Pankratz was active in the life and activities of Christ United Methodist Church and First Presbyterian Church. Her passion was helping people. She was well known for hearing of a need and scouring the local thrift shops for the necessary items. If the need was greater she would elicit the help of others to solve the problem. She was a supporter of Seneca Hills and the One Mission Society mission to Haiti.
She, her sisters and friends formed a Red Hat Society group. She was apeople person� enjoying her many friends and particularly spending time with her grandchildren.
On August 28, 1965 she married James F. Pankratz Jr. who survives along with three children Tiffany Russell and her husband Latroi of Franklin, James F. Pankratz III of Baltimore, MD and David Pankratz and his wife Christina of Franklin; 5 grandchildren Taylor, Olivia and Gabriella Russell and Emma and Zoey Pankratz. Also surviving are a brother Vernon Flinchbaugh and his wife June of Franklin; 2 sisters Hilda Bailey and her husband K. William of Cranberry and Mae O?Neil and her husband Dennis of Franklin and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends will be received in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St. from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Christ United Methodist Church, 1135 Buffalo Street, Franklin with the Rev. David Janz, pastor and Rev. Jim Cossin of Seneca Hills Bible Camp officiating.
Private interment with the immediate family will follow in the Brandon Cemetery.
The family has suggested memorial donations be made to the Scholarship Fund, Seneca Hill Bible Camp, 276 Damascus Road, Franklin PA 16323.
