Sherry Lynn Moffatt

Sherry Lynn Moffatt, 63 of Franklin died at 8:03 A.M. Friday March 16, 2012 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL.

Sherry was born on November 13, 1948 in Franklin Hospital and was a daughter of Harry Leroy (Hap) and Azaliene Vera (Widge) Rahmann.

She graduated from Franklin High School in 1966 and attended Clarion University and Edinboro University.

Sherry worked as a preschool teacher for Venango County Head Start and YWCA Twin Creeks Head Start for 25 years, retiring due to declining health in March of 2007. She loved young children and received much satisfaction from those years of teaching. As she was raising her family, she worked with her husband as youth group leaders at St. Patrick?s Church where she was a member. She was also a Cub Scout den mother and a Girl Scout Leader. Sherry helped with the food pantry at St. Patrick?s Church. Sherry and her husband Joe were very involved with the Franklin Marriage Encounter Group since 1978. Sherry enjoyed large family vacations with her husband, children and grandchildren. She loved to play cards and dominoes with many friends and family, and also enjoyed casino gambling. At home she spent her time crocheting and reading. She loved following Franklin Football and Basketball and watching the Steelers.

She was married to Gary Joseph Moffatt on November 30, 1968, and he survives.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Ronald Leroy Rahmann and her parents, Harry and Azaliene Rahmann.

Also surviving are three children; Eric Moffatt and his wife Renee of Jamestown, N.Y. , Kelly Gressley and her husband Jerry of Highland Heights, OH, and Heidi Williams and her husband John of Windsor, VT; two sisters, Susan Monks, of Austin, TX and Patricia Shontz and her husband Edward of Oil City; and six grandchildren, Ali Beth and Gary Moffatt of Jamestown, N.Y., Katie and Megan Gressley of Highland Heights, OH, and Aidan and Lauren Williams of Windsor, VT.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. Saturday May 19, 2012 at St. Patrick's Church, Franklin.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Huff Chapel Inc. 312 West Park St. Franklin.
