Willard F. Dolan, Jr., 83 of Utica departed this earthly life on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at Meadville Medical Center, Meadville, PA.

A son of Willard F. Dolan, Sr. and Geraldine Deeter Dolan, he was born on April 1, 1933, in Franklin.

He graduated from Rocky Grove High School in 1952
Bill married Donna Lee Huff on January 18, 1953 and she preceded him in death on October 16, 2015.

Bill was employed as a meat cutter in various grocery stores until 1992. He and his wife Donna had operated a butcher shop in Sugarcreek for 10 years.
Mr. Dolan was a veteran, having served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was proud to have been a cook for his fellow soldiers. Bill was honorably discharged in April, 1955, having earned the rank of a Sergeant. He was awarded the following medals: Good Conduct, National Defense Service, Korean Service, Korea Defense Service, United Nations Service and Carbine pin. He was also in the Army Reserves for 18 years.
Bill enjoyed mowing his yard, watching the deer and small wildlife in the woods, and NASCAR races.

He is survived by a son, Willard F. Dolan, III and his wife Gail, a grandson, Justin Dolan, and granddaughter, Emilee Dolan, all of Utica; a daughter Denise L. Smith, and granddaughters Desiree' Smith and DeLonna Smith, all of Franklin.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna, in Oct. 2015, his parents and a brother, Larry Dolan.
The family wants to give a special thank you to Dr. Ronald Unice, and all of the wonderful nurses, aides, and staff at the Crawford County Care Center in Saegertown. They were all so caring and loving to Bill during his stay there. Everyone enjoyed his dog, Scooter, when she went in to visit him.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Huff Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 312 West Park St., Franklin.

A private family interment was held at Franklin Cemetery.
