He was a member of Harrisville American Legion Post #852 and the Grove City VFW Post #519 and Tri State Music Association of Mercer County
He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran
He was first married to Jeanne M.(Best)Smith and she died on December 29, 1983 He then was married to Margaret H.(McGinty)Stillwagon Smith and she died On August 29, 1992.
Surviving are 1 Daughter: Andrea J. Montgomery and her husband Robert-Grove City, PA, 1 Son: Richard A. Smith and his wife Peggie-Erie, PA, a Daughter-in-law: Carol Smith-West Middlesex, PA, 6 Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren, a very close friend: Aggie Kunselman-Saxonburg, PA, 1 Sister: L. May Mosholder-Kittanning, PA
and 1 Brother: Ray L. Smith and his wife Rose-Franklin, PA
He was preceded in death by his parents, his two wives, 1 son Thomas A. Smith, and 1 brother Walter J. Smith
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday December 29, 2011 at the Jamison Funeral Home 117 N. Main St. Harrisville, PA with Pastor Gene Worline of the First Church of God� Grove City, officiating.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. Wednesday December 28, 2011 at the Jamison Funeral Home Harrisville, PA
