William G. Johnston

William G. Johnston II, 81, of Kelly Road, Grove City, died at 12:02 a.m. Monday, April 8, 2013 in Grove City Medical Center.

He was born July 27, 1931, in Pittsburgh, to George W. Johnston and Amy C. (Binger) Johnston.

He attended Harrisville High School, Harrisville.

He retired as supervisor of maintenance with the Grove City Area School District with 31 years of service.

He was a member of Scotch Hill Presbyterian Church, where he was and elder.

He was an active self-employed farmer.

Mr. Johnston was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War.

He was married Nov. 20, 1957, to Roberta S. (Stokes) Johnston, who died March 10, 2002.

Mr. Johnston is survived by a daughter, Laura A. Craft and her husband, Harry, of Woodland Park, Colo.; and a son, William G. Johnston III and his wife, Neva, of Grove City.

Also surviving are three stepchildren, Ellizabeth Stoughton and her husband, William, of Slippery Rock, Christine Allen and her husband, Mark, of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Jerry Zenobi and his wife, Mary Catherine, of New Castle; and nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by a sister, Shirley M. Johnston, of Tucson, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in Jamison Funeral Home, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Lay Pastor Evelyn M. Beebe, of his church, officiating.

Entombment will be at Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City.
